Job Purpose
The Site Engineer – Plumbing is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the proper installation, testing, and commissioning of all plumbing and drainage systems within MEP infrastructure projects. You will ensure all plumbing works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, international standards, safety regulations, and project timelines while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision & Execution: Supervise the installation of plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems on-site, ensuring full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Discipline Coordination: Coordinate seamlessly with other MEP disciplines (Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting, ELV) and project stakeholders, including consultants and contractors.
- Subcontractor Management: Monitor subcontractors, labor teams, and site productivity to keep projects on schedule.
- Testing & Commissioning: Conduct critical testing activities, including hydrostatic pressure testing, leakage testing, and system flushing, alongside supporting final handover documentation.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and hygiene requirements on-site, maintaining site records, progress reports, and QA/QC documentation.
- Technical Review: Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation, clearly reporting technical issues and site progress.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional certification in Plumbing / MEP systems is an added advantage.
Work Experience
- 5 to 15 years of experience in Plumbing / Mechanical Site Engineering within MEP projects.
- Strong background in plumbing and drainage systems for infrastructure, hotels, resorts, commercial buildings, or high-rise developments.
- Experience in island-based projects (e.g., Maldives) is highly preferred; Seychelles experience is an advantage.
- Broad exposure to international construction standards and large-scale MEP projects.
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, sewerage, stormwater systems).
- Hands-on experience installing pumps, piping networks, valves, fixtures, and water treatment systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting plumbing drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Solid understanding of pressure testing, leakage testing, sanitation systems, and environmental discharge requirements.
- Ability to use AutoCAD / Revit for coordination and drawing review (preferred).

- Leadership: Decision-making ability under pressure, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to strict project deadlines.
