Assistant Manager – Cutting ( Hanwella)

We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to achieve the department’s goals and strategies by planning, controlling and maintaining the department capacity and recourses to ensure efficient and effective service to customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaise with the manager to ensure the organization’s production requirements are met in an effective and timely manner to facilitate operations by eliminating idling time and achieving the daily loading plans.
- Liaise with the manager to ensure the availability of packing material and the packing of all cut panels as per the given/ set requirements whilst dispatching same to relevant modules in a timely manner.
- Identify and suggest the need for methods or process improvement within the department in order to maximize the effectiveness of the process thereby eliminating redundant activities thus minimizing time and cost including staff training.
- Liaise with the manager to lead, direct and motivate the team, monitor performance/ provide feedback whilst taking steps to develop the skill levels of subordinates to ensure that they possess the skills and knowledge required to meet both current and future challenges effectively.
- Ensure that the environment, safety and health standards of the organization are adhered to while actively contribute towards promoting a culture of safety and environmental consciousness within and outside the organization.
Knowledge and skills:
- Masters or a Degree with 3 years’ work experience as a Senior Executive or Assistant Manager in a similar function or Postgraduate Diploma with 4 – 5 years’ work experience as a Senior Executive or Assistant Manager
- Visionary skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Negotiation skills and the ability to influence others.
- A good command of the English language
