LEAD DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field or an equivalent professional qualification from a recognized institution
- Hands-on experience working with multiple databases. operating systems. such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Windows, Linux and UNIX, along with their related system tools
- Practical experience in database administration and patch management, including vulnerability assessment and deployment of security updates
- Amaster’s degree such as an MBA/MSc in a relevant field will be an added advantage
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze security vulnerabilities and prioritize critical patches based on risk level, regulatory requirements and business impact
- Execute patch updates on mission-critical systems within the given maintenancewindows while ensuring system stability and uptime
- Database tuning and monitoring
- Troubleshooting of performance issues and provide solutions
- Timely upgrade infrastructure and SLA with vendors
- Monitor/administrate different types of databases, storages and database infrastructure
OTHER COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work for extended hours and work independently
