Organization: Sri Lanka Press Council 

Applications are called for the following posts at Sri Lanka Press Council Candidates with the required qualifications should send their CVs along with copies of educational certificates to the Sri Lanka Press Council, No. 325, Baudhdhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07, by registered post on or before 14th August 2025. (Please mention the position you are applying for on the top of the left-hand corner of the envelop.)

01. Accountant (01 Post)

Educational Qualifications:

For external candidates

• Shall have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Management or Commerce from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission.
  Or
• Shall have passed intermediate examination of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) Or
• Shall have passed intermediate examination of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Or
• Shall have passed intermediate examination of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Or
• Shall have passed Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA)
  and,
• Having gained not less than 3 years of post qualifying experience at a management level in the relevant field of accounting/financial affairs in a government corporation, statutory board or recognized private institution.

Internal Applicants

• Shall have obtained a bachelor’s degree in management or commerce from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission.
  Or
• Shall have passed intermediate examination of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) Or
• Shall have passed intermediate examination of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Or
• Shall have passed intermediate examination of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Or
• Shall have passed Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA)
  and,
• At least 3 years of satisfactory period of service in a position related to the accounting field at the Junior Manager (JM1-1) level.

Age: Should not be less than 22 or not more than 45 years old. The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.

Structure and Salary Scale:
MM 1-1-2025 Rs. 91.660.00 – (10 X 2480) – (15 X 3450) Rs. 168.240.00 Monthly

Management Assistant – Non-Technical (01 Post)

Educational Qualifications:

For external candidates

• Shall have passed six subjects at the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination with credit passes in four subjects including Sinhala/Tamil, English and Mathematics at one sitting.
  and,
• Shall have passed three subjects in the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level Examination at one sitting. (Except General Paper)
  Or
• Shall have passed four (04) subjects in the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level Examination (Old Syllabus) at one sitting.

Other qualifications specific to the position

• Should have knowledge in information and communication technology. (Shall have completed a computer course of not less than six (06) months from an institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission on computer word processing and typing.)

Internal Applicants

• Employees of Sri Lanka Press Council in the Primary Grade Non-Technical, Semi-Technical and Technical Service categories who possess the following qualifications can apply for this.
• Shall have passed not less than six subjects in the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination with credit passes to language and mathematics at one sitting.
  (Shall have completed a computer course of not less than six months from an institution recognized by the CODE and Vocational Education Commission on computer word processing and typing.)
• Should hold permanent appointments in the service and be confirmed in those appointments.
• Should have completed a period of continuous satisfactory service of five (05) years in a permanent appointment prior to the due date.

Age: Should not be less than 18 or not more than 45 years old. The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.

Structure and Salary Scale
MA-1-1-2025 Rs. 46,220.00 (10 X 540) – (7 X 630) – (4 X 890) – (20 X 1190) Rs. 84,350.00 Monthly
Structure and salary scale for the above seven (07) posts
The salaries for the above posts will be effective from 2025 as per the provisions of Management Services Circular No. 01/2025 dated 25.03.2025 and the salaries are currently being paid as mentioned in Schedule II thereof.

Terms and Conditions for the above seven (07) posts

1. Applicants from government departments/organizations should submit applications through their heads of institutions and should clearly state whether they agree to be released from service.
2. If candidates holding permanent positions in a government department are selected, they must obtain release from the Director General of the institution. They are not entitled to a pension while they are employed by our organization.
3. In addition to the above salary, the selected candidates are also entitled to all allowances provided by the government.
4. Special attention will be given to those with experience for the relevant position.
