Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions in Lanka Mineral Sands Limited, a wholly owned government company.
01. Electrician
Primary Skilled Service Category (PL-3)
Vacancy Location – Pulmuda Machine Shop (Vacancy 01D)
External Applicants
Educational and Professional Qualifications
Education
- Must have passed the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination in one (06) subjects with two (02) credits at least in not more than two sittings.
With
Technical Skills/Proficiency
- Must have obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at a level not less than Level 4 issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in relation to the duties of the post of Electrician.
Internal Applicants
Must have obtained one of the following qualifications.
- Years of experience in the field of Electrical Engineering Employees in the Primary Semi-Technical (PL-2) or Primary Non-Technical (PL-1) service category who have five (05) years of experience and a Trade Test not less than the Fourth (04) National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) issued by a Technical College or Vocational Training Institution in relation to the duties of the Electrician post, or
- a Certificate of Proficiency in the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in relation to the duties of the Electrician post.
Salary Code Number and Monthly Salary Scale for PL-3 Service Category
As per Management Services Circular 01/2025
Salary Code Number – Rs. 43,280/- in PL-3 – 490X10,540X10,590X10,630X12× 67,040/- will be placed at the starting salary level of Rs. 43,280/- in the salary scale and a salary of Rs. 40,834/- will be paid from the date of recruitment as per Schedule II.
The salary scale to be established for the recruitment of internal candidates will be determined as per the provisions of Chapter VII of the Establishments Code.
Age limit
Should not be less than 18 years and not more than 45 years. The maximum age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
