Open Competitive Examination for the Post of Driver (Departmental) and the Post of Ambulance Driver – Primary Level Skilled (Grade 111) Category at the Department of Prisons-2026

Applications are, hereby invited from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to the vacancies existing in the posts of Driver (Departmental) and Ambulance Driver at the Department of Prisons, Sri Lanka.

1. Recruitment through this examination will be made for the posts of Driver (Departmental) and Ambulance Driver at the Department of Prisons.
2. Written Examination: This examination will consist of one (01) question paper as follows:

• Intelligence Test and Technical Knowledge

2. Date and Venue of the Examination:

This examination will be held in October 2026 at examination centers to be established in Colombo.

03. Number of Vacancies to be Appointed:

The total number of vacancies is 18 for Driver (Departmental) and 03 for Ambulance Driver. In the event that the number of candidates securing equal marks for the final vacancy or several vacancies exceeds the number of vacant positions, the determination on filling such vacancies shall be decided in accordance with Section 92 of the Procedural Rules of the Public Service Commission. The effective date of appointment will be determined by the Commissioner General of Prisons.
