1990 Suva Sariya is Sri Lanka’s free, island-wide, 24-hour emergency medical response and ambulance service. Launched in July 2016 with the support of a core grant from the Government of India, it has revolutionized pre-hospital care across the country by providing immediate medical attention and rapid transportation to the nearest healthcare facility.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction across all aspects of the Foundation.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational excellence, service delivery and organizational growth.
• Build a positive workplace culture ensure high levels of staff engagement and performance.
• Work closely with the Board, Government stakeholders, partners and donors.
• Oversee compliance, quality standards financial sustainability, review financial and non-financial reports to drive improvements.
• Represent the organization at national/international forums and public events.
• Leverage technology digital innovation to enhance operational efficiency, data-driven decision making and service delivery across the organization.
• Lead emergency, crisis management initiatives, ensuring rapid, coordinated responses and robust business continuity during critical incidents.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• A Basic Degree and a Master’s qualification in Administration, Management, Human Resources Management, Finance, or Emergency Medical Services, together with a minimum of 12 years of managerial experience in a company employing at least 1,000 staff.
  Or
• A Basic Degree in Administration, Management, Human Resources Management, Finance or Emergency Medical Services together with a minimum of 15 years of managerial experience in a company employing at least 1,000 staff. In addition, candidates must demonstrate:
• Proven senior leadership experience, ideally as a CEO, COO, or in an equivalent strategic management role with strong capabilities in operations, strategic planning and financial oversight.
• Exceptional communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and engage with multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Prior experience in emergency service, healthcare or the public sector will be considered a distinct advantage.

General Conditions

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in large-scale or public sector organizations.
• Willingness and ability to provide leadership on a 24/7 basis during emergencies and critical incidents.

• Experience in healthcare, emergency services or related sectors will be an added advantage (Not mandatory).
