Assistant Manager- Risk Engineer
Fire & Miscellaneous Department
Responsibilities
- Carry out risk inspections in accordance with the specified risk inspection criteria.
- Preparation of risk inspection reports and procedures to define inspection strategies based on evaluated or expected risks.
- Advise underwriter on the risk exposure of the premises inspected and provide risk improvement recommendations.
- Assess the overall condition of the risk and the safety measure in place and the recommended safety measures to deliver risk engineering customer service.
- Provide a clear picture and understanding of the risks to be insured for the underwriting staff.
- Evaluate the colossal failure areas to proposed material of construction and other design changes to be used in the capital plan.
- Provide staff training on risk inspections.
- Claim inspections and preparation of reports.
- Non-Motor claim adjustment.
- Coordinating with underwriters in identifying the risks to be inspected and understanding the underwriting requirements.
- Any other special assignments given by the management.
Applicants should possess the following:
- Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or Professional qualification in insurance /risk engineering from a recognized professional institute.
- Professional membership from Risk Engineering society will be an advantage.
- Minimum 06 years’ work experience in risk inspection process of an established insurance company
- Minimum 05 years’ work experience in risk engineering and inspection of an established insurance company of which at least 02 years should have been at Risk Engineer level.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Sound decision making and problem solving skills based on accurate and timely analysis.
- Work pressure management, email etiquette and MS Office platform usage skills.
