Assistant Manager- Risk Engineer
Fire & Miscellaneous Department

Responsibilities

  • Carry out risk inspections in accordance with the specified risk inspection criteria.
  • Preparation of risk inspection reports and procedures to define inspection strategies based on evaluated or expected risks.
  • Advise underwriter on the risk exposure of the premises inspected and provide risk improvement recommendations.
  • Assess the overall condition of the risk and the safety measure in place and the recommended safety measures to deliver risk engineering customer service.
  • Provide a clear picture and understanding of the risks to be insured for the underwriting staff.
  • Evaluate the colossal failure areas to proposed material of construction and other design changes to be used in the capital plan.
  • Provide staff training on risk inspections.
  • Claim inspections and preparation of reports.
  • Non-Motor claim adjustment.
  • Coordinating with underwriters in identifying the risks to be inspected and understanding the underwriting requirements.
  • Any other special assignments given by the management.

Applicants should possess the following:

  • Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or Professional qualification in insurance /risk engineering from a recognized professional institute.
  • Professional membership from Risk Engineering society will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 06 years’ work experience in risk inspection process of an established insurance company
  • Minimum 05 years’ work experience in risk engineering and inspection of an established insurance company of which at least 02 years should have been at Risk Engineer level.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Sound decision making and problem solving skills based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • Work pressure management, email etiquette and MS Office platform usage skills.
