Executive Officer – AML Compliance
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor customer transactions based on various parameters and conduct investigations on system-generated alerts within the AML monitoring system.
- Perform customer screening against sanctions, watch lists and other regulatory databases, and investigate alerts generated.
- Coordinate with branches and relevant stakeholders to update Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) information based on transaction patterns and investigation findings.
- Liaise with branches and obtain additional information and documentation required for AML investigations.
- Escalate suspicious transactions and customers to the officer with comprehensive investigation findings and facilitate the submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).
- Liaise and coordinate with regulatory bodies and law enforcement authorities on matters relating to Money Laundering (ML) and Terrorist Financing (TF) investigations and irregularities.
- Assist in conducting branch on-site visits and AML compliance reviews. Conduct periodic reviews of AML processes, procedures, and departmental controls to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Support the AML Reporting Officer (AMLRO) in conducting AML risk assessments, including periodic reviews and updates.
The Person
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Banking with exposure to Auditing / Finance / Compliance.
- Full or part qualification in Banking from IBSL or any other related qualification from a reputed professional body.
- Strong analytical and interpretational skills
- High standard of computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.
