Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join the project team responsible for contract administration of major projects at the Kolonnawa Installation and Muthurajawela Terminal.
Post of Engineering Assistant – Mechanical
Qualifications required
- National Diploma in Technology (Mechanical) (NDT); or
- Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (HNDE); or
- National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES) in Mechanical; or
- NVQ Level 5 in Mechanical Engineering; or an equivalent qualification recognized in Sri Lanka.
Experience
- Minimum five (05) years of relevant experience in industrial construction projects.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of welding processes and Non-Destructive Testing methods.
- Familiarity with API requirements applicable to fuel storage tank construction.
- Computer literacy in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
- Experience in petroleum terminals, tank farm construction, oil and gas facilities, or similar industrial projects will be an added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager, Project Engineer and CPSTL management in supervising, inspecting, monitoring and documenting all mechanical activities related to the construction of Petroleum product storage tanks, associated piping systems and commissioning activities.
- Assist Mechanical Engineers and QA/QC Inspectors in the construction, fabrication and erection of fuel storage tanks.
- Monitor/supervise fabrication, erection, welding, tank shell plate installation, roof structure installation, nozzle installation, pipeline work, support installations and related activities in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Verify and inspect contractor’s measurements.
- Maintain site reports and logbooks and prepare progress reports and other relevant documents.
- Coordinate effectively with contractor’s supervisory staff and CPSTL staff.
- Ensure contractor compliance with CPSTL’s safety regulations, work permit requirements and HSE requirements.
- Participate in progress review meetings as required.
- Ensure satisfactory completion of mechanical work prior to handover
