Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join the project team responsible for contract administration of major projects at the Kolonnawa Installation and Muthurajawela Terminal.
Post of Engineering Assistant – Civil
Qualifications required.
- National Diploma in Technology (Civil) (NDT); or
- Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering (HNDE); or
- National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES) in Civil; or
- NVQ Level 5 in Civil Engineering; or an equivalent qualification recognized in Sri Lanka.
Experience:
- Minimum five (05) years of relevant experience in industrial construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of surveying, levelling, concreting, and construction quality control practices.
- Computer literacy in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
- Experience in petroleum terminals, tank farm construction, oil and gas facilities, or similar industrial projects will be an added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and CPSTL Management in supervising, inspecting, monitoring, and documenting all civil and structural works associated with Petroleum product storage tank construction, and related infrastructure.
- Assist Civil Engineers and QA/QC Inspectors in all civil construction activities related to the project.
- Monitor and supervise the construction of tank foundations, ring walls, bund walls, drainage systems, roads and paving, structural foundations, and related works in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Inspect concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, and earthworks, and monitor material quality while witnessing field and laboratory tests.
- Verify and check contractor measurements.
- Maintain site records and logbooks and prepare progress reports and other relevant documentation.
- Coordinate effectively with the Contractor’s supervisory personnel and CPSTL staff.
