The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS), established by the Sri Lanka Institute of Strategic Studies Act No. 45 of 2000, as amended by Act No. 32 of 2006, functions as a multidisciplinary research institute dedicated to the study of the strategic interests of Sri Lanka, particularly in the areas of defence, national security, law, economics, cultural relations, agriculture and environment, and the study of international relations in Sri Lanka.
The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute (LKIIRSS) is seeking an experienced individual to serve as its Executive Director. The Executive Director should be a person with excellent management skills and a proven ability to engage with the wider government, diplomatic and academic communities.
Experience and Educational Qualifications
Every candidate must:
- Be a Sri Lankan.
- Be in good physical and mental condition to perform the duties of the position.
- Be of good character.
- Be in good communication skills.
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in Management, International Relations and Strategic Studies or any other relevant field recognized by the University Grants Commission or institutional membership of a recognized professional chartered body. and
- A minimum of 20 years of work experience at “management level” including 5 years of proven service experience at senior management level in a corporation, board/institution or a recognized private sector organization after completing the first degree. OR
- Management. Doctorate in International Relations and Strategic Studies or any other degree relevant to the subject area of the position. And
- A minimum of 05 years of work experience at “senior management level” with proven service experience and management experience in a corporation, board or a recognized private sector organization after completing the first degree.
Age
- It is preferable to be an applicant below the age of 65 years.
