We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager for our Special Asset Management team to oversee credit recoveries based at Kurunegala Regional Office.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to manage distressed assets and achieve organizational goals and objectives related to asset recovery.
Responsibilities
- Achieve the set annual targets and KPIs provided.
- Administer recovery of Commercial Banking Stage 3 NPL accounts at UVA Zone.
- Take necessary actions to expedite recovery of dues of NP categorized facilities by interacting with ARM’s / Zonal Office / Legal department and the customers with the objective of upgrading / exiting such relationship.
- Extensive travelling including outstation to attend Court cases/ lead evidence, property inspections and recovery visits.
- Manage/ Monitor the litigation activities to ensure expeditious recovery of debts with regularly liaising with Litigation Unit and external law firms.
- Initiating action steps to dispose properties which are acquired by the bank by advertising and negotiating with buyers.
- Prepare management reports and reports indicating chronological events.
- Comply with legal requirements, internal policies and regulatory guidelines of the bank and other regulatory bodies.
- Increase communication and teamwork across functions and to work cordially with the business units.
Special Skills
- A team player with excellent analytical, negotiation skills and interpersonal relations
- Experience in credit evaluation and recoveries.
- Knowledge of credit procedures / guidelines and overall risk management functions.
- Knowledge of different products across the bank and proven track record of recovery related functions.
- Ability to compile and interpret reports.
- Management and administration skills.
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in a Bank / Financial Institution with exposure to recoveries/credit evaluation.
or
- 4 years’ experience in a Bank / Financial Institution with exposure to recoveries/credit evaluation
- A part qualification in Banking (Completion of Certificate level of Banking Examination – CBF) or CIMA/CIM/ACCA/ACA (completion of the 2nd stage) Or completion of 2 years of a 3 year Degree Programme
