SLP Group is currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Health & Safety (H&S) Officer to join our team at our project site in the Maldives. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, fully compliant, and risk-free working environment by implementing rigorous safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and fostering a strong safety-first culture among the workforce. and check more Maldives job vacancies for Sri Lankans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive workplace health and safety programs and policies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all site operations strictly comply with local and international safety regulations, standards, and operational procedures.
- Training & Briefings: Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and targeted awareness training for personnel.
- Hazard Identification & Mitigation: Identify potential site hazards promptly and execute effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Routine Inspections: Regularly inspect tools, machinery, heavy equipment, and work areas to verify safety compliance.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate safety registers, incident logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Incident Investigation: Thoroughly investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases to recommend and implement preventive measures.
- Waste Management: Supervise hazardous waste management protocols and ensure safe, compliant disposal procedures.
- Collaboration: Coordinate closely with project leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives in site safety.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualifications: Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or a closely related field).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in construction or project site safety (preferred).
- Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations, standards, and site documentation.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, keen observation, and robust reporting skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to strictly enforce safety regulations while maintaining positive and productive relationships with the workforce.
- Physical Fitness: Physically fit and capable of conducting regular site inspections and field duties.
- Location: The selected candidate will be stationed at our active project site in the Maldives.
