TRAINEE AGRICULTURE OFFICER (OUTSOURCED)

Job Role

The Trainee Agriculture Officer will assist the Agribusiness Unit in building client relationships, supporting Relationship Managers, and contributing to the growth of microfinance, SME, and emerging corporate portfolios. The role includes field visits, collecting agricultural and financial data, and supporting the evaluation of agribusiness proposals, providing valuable exposure to agricultural lending and client engagement.

The Person

    • A degree holder in Agriculture or a diploma holder (NVQ Level 5 and above)
    • Below 30 years of age.
    • Strong commitment to fieldwork and willingness to serve at outstation Customer Centers.
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset.
    • Good analytical and decision-making skills with proficiency in MS Excel.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with the relevant customer segment.
    • Should hold a valid driving license.
    • Intermediate in Applied Banking and Finance or Diploma in Applied Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka will be an added advantage. 

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in Agriculture from a recognized university
    or
  • Higher National Diploma in Agriculture (HNDT)
    or
  • Diploma in Agriculture (NVQ Level 5 or above)
