Technical Officer
Sri Lanka Telecom (Services) Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC, operates the PEOTV and
Content Business for the Group. PEOTV has been at the forefront of IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) services,
introducing innovative and interactive television applications to Sri Lanka, since its inception.
We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven individual with the expertise to turn technical challenges into innovative
solutions to take up this challenging position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Operate and maintain core network components including servers, L2/L3 switches, load balancers, and firewalls
- Manage and support infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, FTP servers, and SSL certificates
- Analyze system logs and network flows to identify the root causes of incidents in a large-scale environment
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using tools such as Tcpdump and Tripwire
- Understand application flows and troubleshoot issues
- Perform roster duties including night shifts and participate in 24×7 technical support operations
The ideal candidate should possess:
- NVQ Level 5/NDT/HNDE/NDES/City & Guilds Advance Diploma qualifications or an equivalent qualification in Electronic & Communication/Computer Systems
- a good knowledge of system monitoring tools
Possessing following qualifications will be an added advantage:
- Basic understanding in AV compression systems, Metadata, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, H.265, internet
streaming, digital video receivers and decoders, video servers, web-based client/server applications, web
streaming services etc. - Network and Programing Certification (CCNA/CCNP/Python/Java)
