VACANCIES

Recruitment of Drivers for the Colombo Municipal Council on labour purchase basis.

• Position: – Driver (on a labour purchase basis).
• Allowance: – Rs. 2500.00 per working day
• Physical Eligibility: –

1. Minimum height 5’ feet.
2. Must be in a good mentally and physically fit to work in day time and night.

• Age: – Between the age of 21 – 42 at the acceptance of applications
• Educational Qualifications: Must have obtained 6 passes at G.C.E (O/L) examination including Sinhala / Tamil language with 2 credit passes at not more than two sittings (Must have passed at least 5 subjects at one sitting)
• Professional Qualifications: –

1. Must have obtained a motor license issued by the Commissioner General of Motor traffic.
2. Must have obtained a ‘D’ vehicle class driving license.

• Experience: – At least three (03) years of experience as a driver after obtaining the license
• Other Qualification: –
  Must be a permanent resident of Western Province for at least 03 years as at the application
  acceptance date in the advertisement.
• Recruitment Method: -Recruitment is through a professional test and interview.

• Applications prepared in accordance with the attached specimen application form should be completed and submitted and should be sent by registered post to the address: Municipal Commissioner, Colombo Municipal Council, Town Hall, Colombo 07, by 17.10.2025, mentioning on the top left corner of the envelope containing the application as “Labour Purchase – Driver”.
• The final decision regarding the deployment vested with Municipal Commissioner.
