VACANCIES

The University of Vavuniya will entertain applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the following posts.

1) PERMANENT POSTS

1. Works Aide Gr.III
2. Groundman Gr.III
3. Library Attendant Gr.III
4. Security Guard Gr.III

QUALIFICATIONS:

For all above posts

• Should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with at least two (02) credit passes in not more than two sittings.
• Age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of applications.

Note:

Eligibility

• Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Should be physically and mentally fit to the discharge the duties of the post well and to serve in any part of the island.
• Should be of excellent moral character.

REMUNERATION AND OTHER BENEFITS:

Salary Code: U-PL 1 (III)
Salary Scale from 01.04.2025: Rs. 42,775 – 16 X 450 – 49,975 p.m

Salary will be paid based on the UGC Commission Circular No.02/2025 (i)

Cost of living allowance: – Rs.17,800/-p.m.
Monthly Compensatory Allowance: – 36 % – Rs.330/-p.m

METHOD OF RECRUITMENT: Trade test and/ or structured interview

Application form are available in the University website http://www.vau.ac.lk Downloaded application forms should accompany with the paid Bank Slip for the deposit of a sum of Rs.100/- credited to the Bank of Ceylon, Account No: 2364602 in favour of Bursar, University of Vavuniya.

The Candidates who apply for more than one post should submit separate application form with separate Bank Slip.

The post applied for should be marked on the top left hand corner of the envelope.

Applicants from the University System/Government Departments /Corporations and Statutory Boards should channel their applications through the Head of the respective Institutions, but may send an advance copy in the first instance on or before the closing date. However, no such applicant will be considered for interview, if the application channeled through the Head of the Department is not received.

Illegible, incomplete and late applications will be rejected without intimation. Only short-listed applicants will be
