VACANCIES

POST OF PROJECT MANAGER

The Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka will entertain applications for the above mentioned post at the Capital Works and Planning Branch from suitably qualified persons as details provided below.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Should possess a B.Sc. Engineering degree from a recognized university/HEI specializing in Civil Engineering
   OR
   Should possess a B.Sc. Engineering degree from a recognized university/HEI specializing in Quantity Surveying
   OR
   Equivalent professional qualifications recognized by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL).
   AND
2. Possess a Corporate membership from a recognized Engineering Institute.
   OR
   Possess a Corporate membership from a recognized Institute of Quantity Surveying.
   AND
3. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction projects, handling contracts as well as managing direct labour.

SALARY SCALE:

• Rs. 113,690-8 x 2,400; 8 x 2,940-156,410 p.m [U-EX 2 (II)-2025]

In addition to the above basic salary, other allowances approved by the University Grants Commission will also be paid as per the relevant regulations. i. e.;

1. Cost of Living Allowance – Rs. 17,800.00
2. Monthly Compensatory Allowance – 36% of basic salary
3. Research & Development Allowance – 21% of basic salary

BENEFITS:

Appointees to the permanent posts are required to contribute 10% of their monthly salary to the Universities Provident Fund; the University in turn contributes a sum equivalent to 8% to the Universities Pension Fund, 7% to the Universities Provident Fund (UPF) and 3% to the Employees Trust Fund (ETF).

SABBATICAL LEAVE:

Appointee of Project Manager entitled for one year Sabbatical Leave with pay once in every seven years of service and as per the provisions of relevant UGC circulars, Air passage will be paid by the University to the teacher and his/her spouse when proceeding abroad on such leave.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:

Selected candidates if presently serving in a government department will have to obtain his/her release through their respective appointing authority. Government employees will not be entitled to maintain their pension rights whilst in the university service.

Special Note:

Appointment on assignment basis or contract basis will be considered for officers those who have retired or temporary release from public or private sector service with a suitable allowance.
