Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC (MBSL), a well-established Financial Institution and a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon is looking for dynamic and result oriented individual to join our team for the following post.

JUNIOR EXECUTIVE-INTERNAL AUDIT

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain highest standards of ethics and confidentially.
• Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding audit programs, rules, regulations best practices, tools, techniques, performances standards etc.to improve work efficiency.
• Apply the business knowledge and understanding on processes to identify risks associated with the transactions and process and assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
• Analyze the gaps in internal controls and make practical audit recommendations.
• Effectively communicate the audit finding and recommendations through audit reports, constructively discuss audit finding with management and assist in adopting corrective actions and follow up.
• Keep pursuing continuous self-development initiatives to improve audit knowledge.
• Extensive travelling when needed to conduct branch audits and special reviews.

Education and Experience:

• GCE (A/L) Examination with 3 passes 02 Years’ Experience in a similar capacity OR
• GCE(O/L) Examination with 05 Years’ Experience in a similar capacity.
• Part qualification in relevant discipline is an added advantage.
• Able to Travel frequently all island for audits.
• Being tri-lingual would be an added advantage.

Remuneration:

• Performance based remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate, based on the qualifications and experience.

Maximum age limit is 30 years

Audit Trainees

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to deliver the board approved internal audit plan.
• Apply the knowledge gathered through studies to analyze the gaps in internal controls.
• Effective report writing skills to communicate audit findings and recommendations, and assist in adopting corrective actions and follow up.
• Travelling when needed to conduct branch audit reviews.
• Maintain highest standard of ethics and Confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

• Passed Business level II of CA Sri Lanka Exams and or/a similar level in other reputed professional accounting body (AAT, CMA, CIMA)
• An undergraduate in accounting/finance, or related area would be an added advantage.
• 1 to 2 years of working experience in an Audit firm is preferred.
• Good aptitude for analytical skills, attention to detail, self-development, communication and reporting skills are essential for this role.

Remuneration:

• Monthly Allowance in line with CA Sri Lanka guidelines.
