Vacancies in the Sri Lanka Educational Administrative Service Grade I Principal Posts in National Schools Island wide – 2025

Applications are invited from eligible officers of Grade I of the Sri Lanka Educational Administrative Service as per the directions of the Education Services Committee of the Public Service Commission to select suitable officers to fill the vacancies of Principal Posts in National Schools mentioned in the attached Schedule.

01. Qualifications

• Being an officer of Grade I of the Sri Lanka Educational Administrative Service.

Note 1: Officers who have qualified for promotion to Grade I of the Sri Lanka Educational Administrative Service before the closing date of calling for applications may also apply for these vacancies, and applications submitted by officers who do not meet the qualifications for promotion will be rejected. (However, the letter of promotion to Grade 1 must be submitted at the time of interview.)

• Officers who have been declared unfit to be appointed as Principals of National Schools by the Public Service Commission or the Education Service Committee of the Public Service Commission are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants should not be more than 58 years of age as on the closing date for receipt of applications. (This age limit does not apply to officers who have already been duly appointed to act as Principals/to perform duties/to cover the duties of a National School and apply for the same Principal post)

02. Conditions

1. Officers who are appointed to the relevant Principal posts in filling up the vacancies this time should have served for at least 3 years. (This condition does not apply to officers who are due to retire before three years)
2. If appointed to the position of Principal, one cannot refuse to assume the duties of that position without acceptable and reasonable reasons.
