VACANCY

TECHNICAL OFFICER (AUDIO VISUAL) GRADE III

Applications are called from suitable qualified persons to fill the post of Technical Officer (Audio Visual) Grade III at the Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS). The deadline for receiving application is 24th September 2025.

Qualification:

1. Should pass in three (3) subjects at the G.C. E. (A/L) examination in any stream.
   AND
2. (a) Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the N. V. Q. Level 5 in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication/Electronics/Multimedia or Audio Visual Techniques from an Institution recognized by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission or a Statutory Institution which has been established by an Act passed by the Parliament.
   OR
3. (b) Having obtained technical qualifications in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Electronics/ Multimedia or Audio Visual Techniques accepted as equivalent to the above qualification of (ii) (a) by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission with one year experience in Audio Visual work in a reputed organization.

Age Limit: Age should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of applications.

Salary Scale: Rs. 51,095 -7×540; 10×640–60,575 [U-MT 1(III)]

General Notes:

1. The University reserves the right to shortlist the applications and summon candidates for interview, based on the prevailing rules and regulations.
2. Employees of Government/Corporations should forward their applications through the Heads of respective Departments/Corporations along with a certified statement of the present salary particulars. The applications which are not received through the proper channel on or before the closing date will not be considered.
3. The selected candidates will become contributors to the Universities Provident Fund as well as the Universities Pension fund, the contributions being 10% from the employee to the Provident fund and 7% and 8% from the employer to the Provident Fund and Pension Fund respectively.
4. Application forms should be downloaded from the PGIS website at https://www.pgis.lk/ (under notices section) and duly completed application along with certified photocopies of certificates in proof of qualifications and experience/service should be sent by registered post to Deputy Registrar, Postgraduate Institute of Science, P. O. Box: 25, Peradeniya on or before 24th September 2025.
5. Name of the post in respect of the application, should be stated on the top left-hand corner of the envelop.
6. Applications will not be entertained personally and the Institute will not bear any responsibility for such submissions. Incomplete, illegible, late applications, application without documents to proof and applications which are not submitted through prescribed format will be rejected.
