Job Description
The incumbent will mainly engaged in developing knowledge and skills of engineering & maintenance personnel, on basic as well as specific – type aircraft, maintenance practices, procedures and operational aspects. And forwarding proposals for course improvement, updating and upgrading of applicable course materials.
Job Accountabilities
- Research, analyze and deliver training requirement of functional department in the area of the relevant faculty and ensure all relevant training needs are met with regard to the business requirements accordance to applicable regulations/ MTOE procedures and within the agreed time limits. Ensure Accurate and timely completion of all course documentation.
- Prepare, Update and maintain training materials, lesson plans including training manuals, field trip guidelines to ensure course delivery is standardized at all times. Be current with the latest modifications and other regulatory/operational procedures to enhance course delivery and course ware.
- Monitor & assist technical training administration team to all training operation related activities including maintaining and verifying of training schedules and applicable logbooks. Timely execution of all assigned job tasks/ special projects to ensure continues development & sustainability of SLAC and initiation of all necessary actions in the event of an emergency. Student coordination, student guidance.
- If appointed by Examination Manager undertake duties of Designated paper Marking Person and ensure that the process of paper marking and preparation of analysis sheets are performed accurately and with highest integrity. Assit Examination Manager in reviewing exam results to ensure the accurate and timely issuance of exam results to the students.
- Assist to compile questions for examination banks for the category he /she is qualified and If appointed by Examination Manager undertake duties of invigilator.
- Regularly monitor and provide necessary guidelines for the career development and knowledge/attitude enhancement of junior instructors. Maintain and inculcate discipline and correct attitude among trainees so that they contribute positively for the departmental and company progress
- Support and contribute towards achieving departmental/divisional initiatives & priorities.
Requirements
Graduate Path
1.Degree in Engineering from a recognized university (UGC approved) or equivalent recognized professional qualification (IESL or EC (UK)) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance.
AND
2. One full instructor authorization qualifications of SriLankan Technical Training
AND
3. Total five (05) years of aviation industry experience out of which three (3) years postgraduate relevant experience in civil aviation environment (aeronautical maintenance) or acceptable equivalent. The experience should be representative of the subject(s) to be taught.
License holder path
1. Category B1.1 or Category B2, Aircraft Maintenance License from Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) or equivalent recognized Aircraft Maintenance License (EASA, UK CAA, CASA Australia)
AND
2. One full instructor authorization qualifications of SriLankan Technical Training
AND
3. Total five (05) years of aviation industry experience out of which three (3) years of post-licensing experience in civil aviation environment (aeronautical maintenance) or acceptable equivalent. The experience should be representative of the subject(s) to be taught
Engineering Instructor 8.1
Certification of Recognition path
1. IS 147 full Certification of Recognition (CofR) in category B1.1 or B2 or equivalent recognized Certification of Recognition (EASA, UK CAA, CASA Australia).
AND
2. One full instructor authorization qualifications of SriLankan Technical Training
AND
3. Three (3) years of post-qualifying relevant experience in civil aviation environment (aeronautical maintenance) or acceptable equivalent. The experience should be representative of the subject(s) to be taught
In addition to the above main criteria:
Note 1: Technical Training Instructor in E1 ( license holder and graduate paths ),In order to qualify for the same position in SriLankan Technical Training, external applicants satisfying applicable one full instructor authorization qualifications of SriLankan Technical Training will also be considered upon satisfactory performance of an interview subjected to his or hers existing qualifications/authorization(s) being able to be transferred to the SriLankan Airlines instructor authorization scheme given in “Srilankan Maintenance Training Organization Exposition.”
Selected candidates will be placed in Grade 8.1 as Engineering Instructor – Basic until successful completion of full instructor authorization of SriLankan Technical Training School
Note 2: Technical Training instructor in 8.1 path : will be placed in the executive grade (currently Grade 8.1 ) Engineering Instructor – Basic until successful completion of one full instructor authorization of SriLankan Technical Training and obtaining degree in Engineering/AML and completion of total five (05) years of aviation industry experience.
Upon satisfactory successful completion of one full instructor authorization of SriLankan Technical Training and Degree/AML and completion of total five (5) years of aviation industry experience, he or she will qualify to be placed in E1 grade.
The upper age limit should be 50 years as at the Closing date 01st May 2024.
Employment will be offered on fixed term contract.
