Facilities Technical Officer (Carpentry)
Vacancy Description -SriLankan Airlines Ltd, the national carrier of Sri Lanka operates with a network of destinations throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Australia. The airlines has a strong presence in Maldives and Southern India. SriLankan is a member of the oneworld alliance.
To carry out in-house skilled maintenance activities including construction of internal semi-permanent partitions, roof works, ceiling, interior decorative items and fixing furniture to use in good condition.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carryout layout modifications (i.e. Partitioning, Installation of timber/ aluminum/ glass door & window frames, sashes & accessories etc.) to cater to changing organizational needs as & when required.
- Perform construction, modification, and repairs on ceilings to ensure a safe and comfortable work environment for the user department.
- Carryout construction of counters, carpeting, vinyl floor tilling & wallpaper / fabric installation etc. to help maintain the image of the airline.
- Conduct furniture repairs to ensure the efficient operation of offices and service facilities in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Monitoring proper log reports & following up under the guidance of the Foreman in charge to rectify defects on time.
- Maximum usage of power tools for carpentry and other fabrication work and maintenance of such tools for longer life span of the same.
Requirements
- 6 passes at GCE (O/L) including a pass for Mathematics & English and successful completion of one-year full time technical course (NVQ level 4) in relevant field (carpentry) with 4 years relevant working experience.
- Age to be not more than 35 years as at 01st March 2025 which is the closing date.
- Be a Sri Lankan Citizen.
