Open Written Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Station Master – Grade III of the Department of Railways – 2025
Applications are invited from Sri Lankan citizens aged 18 years and above and not more than 30 years as on 14.07.2025 to fill 106 vacancies for the post of Station Master in the Department of Railways. (Accordingly, applications can be submitted only by those whose date of birth falls on or before 14.07.2007 and on or after 14.07.2019.) The last date for receipt of applications is 14.07.2025. This examination will be held in September 2025.
All applications should be sent by registered post to the following address before that date: Commissioner of Examinations, Sri Lanka Examinations Department, Institutional Examinations Organization Branch, P.O. Box 1503 Colombo. No application should be sent in person or delivered by hand. Incomplete, irregular, not fulfilling the required qualifications, not duly paid and late applications will be rejected without any notice. Those who are in the Government or Provincial Public Service should send their applications through the Heads of their respective institutions before the due date.
The cities and town numbers in which examination centres are expected to be established for conducting this examination are given in Schedule 1. These city numbers should be completed as per the list at the top of the application form. The city applied for will not be allowed to be changed later. However, applicants from cities where sufficient number of applicants have not applied for the establishment of an examination centre will be directed to an examination centre in another nearby city. If a sufficient number of candidates do not apply to establish examination centres in all or more of the proposed cities, the Commissioner General of Examinations will arrange to hold the examination in Colombo.
