Vacancies

Applications are invited from eligible Sri Lankans for the following vacant posts in the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Association.

1. Technical Officer – Eye Bank / Tissue Bank (Male)

Educational, Professional and Other Qualifications

• A credit pass in English in the G.C.E. (O/L) examination, proficiency in writing, reading and speaking English.
• A pass in at least 03 subjects (excluding General Survey) under the G.C.E. (A/L) Biology stream.
• A degree, higher diploma or diploma in Biology / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences will be considered as a special qualification.
• Two years of experience in medical services.
• Having completed a course on tissue bank management is considered a special qualification. Having 01 year of experience as an operating room technician, ambulance or on-site technician is considered a special qualification.
• Having completed a course on computer use. (Microsoft office, Word, Excel, Power point, File Management, Data Entry and Spread sheet)
• Must be not less than 22 years of age and not more than 45 years of age.
• Must be able to multi-task and have knowledge of public relations.
• Must have the physical and mental fitness required to perform the duties assigned to the position well.
• Must be of excellent character.
• Must be willing to participate in night shifts.
• Must be a permanent resident of the Western Province is considered a special qualification.

2. Vision Tester – (Male)

Educational, Professional and Other Qualifications

• Passed 06 subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with credit passes in 04 subjects including Sinhala Language, Mathematics and English Language.
• Passed 03 subjects (excluding the Common Examination) in the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination.
• Possession of a Diploma or Certificate Course qualification of at least one year duration in Vision Testing.
• Completion of at least one year as an Vision Tester in a recognized institution is considered a special qualification.
• Must be between 18 – 45 years of age.
• Must be willing to participate in extracurricular activities.
• Being a permanent resident of the Western Province is considered a special qualification.

3. Maintenance Assistant (Male)

Educational, Professional and Other Qualifications

• A pass in 06 subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with credit passes in 04 subjects including Sinhala Language, Mathematics and English Language.
• A pass in at least 03 subjects (excluding the Common Examination) in the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination.
• A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 Certificate of Proficiency issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in the field of building maintenance including electricity, water and telephone systems.
• Must have received special training in building maintenance including electricity, water and telephone systems and must have 02 years of experience as a Maintenance Assistant in a recognized government or private institution.
• Should be between 18 – 45 years of age.
• Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties assigned to the position and to serve in any part of the island.
• Must be of excellent character.
• Permanent residency in the Western Province is considered a special qualification.
