Technical Officer – Junior Manager Category (JM 1-2 Gr. II)

Qualifications

External (1 or 2 or 3 or 4 below)

Educational:

1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Technology or Science Stream which is recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka.
   (Science Stream – offering one of the following subjects;
   Physics, Chemistry, Food Science, Textile, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Fisheries, Agriculture, Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Mathematics or Statistics)
2. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 7, issued by a Technical/Vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in relevant Field.
3. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 6, issued by a Technical/Vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in relevant Field.
   AND
   At least 05 years post qualifying experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Board or a Reputed Statutory Institution
4. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational
   Qualification Level 5, issued by a Technical/Vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in relevant Field.
   AND
   At least 10 years post qualifying experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Board or a Reputed Statutory Institution.

Internal (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of minimum 05 years satisfactory service in a post of the Management Assistant (Technological) MA 2-2 Grade II, in the subject area relevant to the post.

Method of Selection

• Written Competitive Examination and Interview.
• This examination will be a one paper (3 hours) including four parts covering subject areas given below.

1. English Language Proficiency
2. Aptitude Test
3. Subject knowledge relevant to the post
4. Computer Literacy

Salary Scale: LKR 74,010.00 – 10 x 1,360.00 LKR 87,610.00

Management Assistant – Non Technical (MA 1-2 – Gr. III)
Management Assistant – 36 Posts

Qualifications

External

Educational:

1. Having passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects in one sitting with credit passes for four subjects including
   

   Sinhala/Tamil, English language, Mathematics

   AND

2. Having passed there subjects (other than the General knowledge Paper and English Paper) at the G.C.E. (A/L) in one sitting.

Internal

Employees of the categories of Primary Level-Skilled, Semi skilled and Unskilled who passes the following qualifications are eligible to apply.

1. Having passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects with credit passes for four subjects including
   i Sinhala/ Tamil
   ii English language
   iii Mathematics
   AND
2. Having completed a minimum of five (05) years in Primary Level Skilled, Semi-Skilled, Unskilled categories and satisfactory service in a permanent post under the above employee category.

Method of Selection

• Written Competitive Examination and Interview.
• This examination will be a one paper (3 hours) including three parts covering subject areas given below.

1. English Language Proficiency
2. Aptitude Test/General Knowledge
3. Computer Literacy

Salary Scale: LKR 46,220.00 – 10 x 540.00 LKR 51,620.00

Other

Every applicant,

• Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Should be physically and mentally fit to discharge the duties of the post well and to serve in any part of the Island.
• Should be of excellent moral character.

Age:

• Should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit will not be applicable to internal candidates.

The hard copy of the application should be sent under registered cover to reach the Director General, Sri Lanka Standards Institution, No. 17, Victoria Place, Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 08 on or before 2025-06-18. Fees are charged for the examination fee may vary depending on the number of applications received and will be notified later. The examination admission card will be sent to the applicant only after the examination fee is paid.

Applicants employed in the Public Sector Institutions must submit their applications through the respective Heads of their Institutions. The post applied for should be clearly indicated on the top left corner of the envelope.
