The Ocean University of Sri Lanka is entrusted with the responsibility of catering to the manpower needs in the Fisheries, Marine and Maritime sectors of Sri Lanka.
The Ocean University of Sri Lanka will entertain applications from suitably qualified persons for the following posts
SALARY SCALES
- Senior Lecturer Grade I – Rs.91,310-7 X 2,170 – 106,500 p.m. [U-AC 3 (1)] Academic Allowance of 189% of salary will be paid
- Senior Lecturer Grade II – Rs.79,360 11 X 1,630-97,290 p.m. [U-AC 3 (II)] Academic Allowance of 189% of salary will be paid
- Lecturer (Unconfirmed) – Rs.69,580 5 X 1,630 – 77,730 p.m. [U-AC 3 (III) Academic Allowance of 164% of salary will be paid
- Lecturer (Probationary) – Rs.54,600 10 X 1,335-67,950 p.m. [U-AC 3 (IV)] Academic Allowance of 144% of salary will be paid
In addition to the above salary, cost of living allowance, and other government-approved allowances will be paid to the selected candidate/s.
Faculty of Engineering and Management
Department of Marine Engineering
Lecturer (Probationary)/Lecturer (Unconfirmed) / Senior Lecturer Grade II/I Permanent positions
Areas of Expertise
- B. Sc. (Hons) Eng. in Marine Engineering /Manufacturing Engineering/Production Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Those qualified in Mechanical Engineering should be able to teach the following modules, Engineering Drawing, Engineering Materials, Fluids Machinery and Hydraulics, Mechanic of Machines, Control Systems, Machine Design and Projects, Workshop Technology and CAD/CAM, and Engineering Design.
- In the case of Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/Senior Lecturer posts, postgraduate qualifications in the relevant field.
Senior Lecturer Grade II/I, (Contract Basis)
Applicants for the position of Senior Lecturer Grade II/I on a contract basis are encouraged from industry professionals, recently retired individuals, those who are on sabbatical leave, and secondment basis.
Age: Retired applicants are highly encouraged
Salary: Can be negotiable.
Faculty of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences
Department of Oceanography
Lecturer (Probationary)/Lecturer (Unconfirmed) /Senior Lecturer Grade II/I Permanent positions
Areas of Expertise
- B. Sc. (Hons) in Marine Geology, Geophysics, Fluid dynamics, Coastal and Estuarine Processes, Oceanography, and Ocean Modelling
- In the case of Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/Senior Lecturer posts, postgraduate qualifications in the relevant field.
Application forms, Scheme of Recruitment (SOR) can be downloaded from the Ocean University website www.ocu.ac.lk up to 17th February 2025. Only the Applications sent on the specified form will be accepted. (Annex the copies of relevant documents). The envelope containing the duly filled application form must bear the name of the post applied for and the name of the Department on its top left-hand corner and it can be either hand-delivered or sent under registered post to reach the Assistant Registrar, Human Resource Development, Ocean University of Sri Lanka No. 51. Pannananda Mawatha, Mattakkuliya, Colombo 15 on or before 17th February 2025.
Applicants from the University System/Government Departments/Corporations and Statutory Boards should channel their applications with the recommendation of the Heads of the respective Institutions.
Applications received after the closing date and incomplete applications and applications not submitted in the prescribed format of the Ocean University of Sri Lanka will be rejected without intimation. The University reserves the right to shortlist the candidates.
