Applications are invited for the post of Provincial Director of the Department of Animal Production and Health, Sabaragamuwa Province.

Applications are invited from qualified officers islandwide for the vacant post of Provincial Director of the Department of Animal Production and Health, Sabaragamuwa Provincial Public Service.

Required Qualifications

Being an officer with a degree in Veterinary Science and having completed 3 years of active service in Grade I of the Sri Lanka Animal Production and Health Service.

Note:- All the relevant qualifications for recruitment to this post must be fulfilled by the last date of receipt of applications (2025.06.16), and it is mandatory to attach photocopies of all certificates proving qualifications, photocopies of National Identity Card and Birth Certificate with the application.

Basic Qualifications :-

At least 3 years of active and satisfactory service in Grade I of the Sri Lanka Animal Production and Health Service.
05 years of active service as on the closing date of calling applications.
Not having received any disciplinary punishment as per the provisions of the Public Service Commission Circular No. 01/2020.
All qualifications should be completed on or before the closing date of receipt of applications.

Salary Scale :-

The salary scale for this post is SL 1 10×2400 – 8×2940 – 17×3900 – 195,970/= as per G.P.C. 10/2025. The 20th salary step in that salary scale is the starting salary.

Age Limit :-

There is no age limit as applications are invited from Sri Lanka Animal Production and Health Service officers who are already in the public service, island wide.

Structured Interview :-

Candidates who have completed the basic qualifications will be required to appear for a structured interview, in which marks will be given considering seniority, merit, and outstanding contribution to the Animal Production and Health sector, management skills, and ability to face the interview. The applicant who obtains the highest marks in the interview will be appointed to the post.

The marks given in the structured interview are as follows.

Seniority – 50 marks
Merit – 50 marks

All applications should be duly and correctly completed and should reach the Head of Department and the Secretary of the relevant Ministry on or before 16.06.2025 (if you are an officer absorbed into the Provincial Council, your application should be forwarded with the recommendations of the Secretary of the Provincial Ministry and the Chief Secretary). They should be sent by registered post to the address “Secretary, Provincial Public Service Commission, Sabaragamuwa Province, Provincial Council Complex, Navanagara, Ratnapura”. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed on the top left corner as “Calling for Applications for the Post of Provincial Director of the Department of Animal Production and Health, Sabaragamuwa Province”.

Applications received after the due date, incomplete applications and applications of candidates who do not meet the qualifications as of the closing date for applications will be rejected without prior notice. No complaint regarding late or lost applications will be entertained by the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Public Service Commission Office.

The Sabaragamuwa Provincial Public Service Commission reserves the right to make decisions on matters not provided for herein and the final decision regarding recruitment to this post.

In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil versions of this advertisement, the Sinhala version shall prevail.
