The Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) based in Colombo, Sri Lanka is an independent, non-profit, and non-governmental regional organization engaged in collaborative research, networking, and dialogue on strategic and international issues pertaining to South Asia. RCSS invites applications for the position of Executive Director. The successful candidate should indicate the earliest possible date s/he can take over.
The desired candidate should fulfil the following requirements:
- Preferably between 40 -65 years of age;
- Should possess an advanced degree in International Relations, Political Science or related social science subjects;
- Have a scholarly reputation with substantial publications, administrative acumen, and the ability to reach out to various constituencies in South Asia and in other regions of the world.
- Experience and ability to write research proposals to raise funds for the Centre regionally and internationally for the development of RCSS.
The position is open to citizens of all SAARC countries. A monthly salary of Rs. 350,000 will be paid in Sri Lankan Rupees. Further, RCSS will make a fifteen percent contribution to Employer’s Provident Fund (EPF) and Employee’s Trust Fund (ETF). The candidate will be required to pay 8% for the EPF. The Sri Lanka government personal taxes apply as Advanced Payment of Income Tax (APIT). A car and driver will be provided for official work.
The tenure is for a fixed and non-extendable term of three years.
Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply with a complete CV with personal Details; Educational Qualifications; List of Research Publications; Record of Administration/management experience of five years or more; names of two referees and with a statement in 50o words about where and how you would raise grant funding in the first year
if selected. The deadline for receiving applications is July 12th, 2025, before 4 p.m. (Sri Lanka Time).
