Store Keeper

Organization: Sri Lanka Ports Authority

Applications are invited from qualified permanent employees of the Authority for the following vacant positions at the Colombo Port.

Position: Storekeeper (Number of Vacancies – Colombo 03

Salary Band:- 9:3 (SNT3)

Starting Salary:- Rs. 40,240/-
Salary Increment:- Rs. 575/=

Candidates already in higher salary bands, if selected, will be considered for placement in salary bands 9:2 (SNT2) or 9:1 (SNT1) taking into account the existing salary band.

Eligibility:-

(a).

Pass in three (03) subjects at the A. L. Examination. AND
National Vocational Qualification Certificate (NVQ 3) Level 3 in the relevant field/ A similar certificate in the relevant field issued by the Mahapola Port and Maritime Institute or any other recognized institution. AND
Three years in SS salary band ( 03) years of service.

(b)

Passed the A.P.O. (L) Examination with Language, Mathematics and Passed (06) in not more than two sittings / Successfully completed the training course on port activities conducted by the Mahapola Port and Maritime Institute.
AND
National Vocational Qualification Certificate (NVQ 3) Level 3 in the relevant field / An equivalent certificate in the relevant field issued by the Mahapola Port and Maritime Institute or any other recognized institution.
AND
Completed five (05) years of service in the SS pay band.

Deposit

The appointee shall deposit a deposit of Rs. 5,000/ = through a reliable surety insurance company and the prescribed amount of money in respect of the surety bond shall be paid by the appointee himself. In addition to the appointment The recipient must deposit a security deposit of Rs. 4,000/= in cash with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

Note

The level of physical fitness should be satisfactory.
Every applicant should pass the professional knowledge test (written practical) relevant to the post.
The selected candidates will be subjected to a medical examination if necessary.
Employees recruited to the posts of Security Guard and Firefighter are eligible to apply for this post only if they have completed more than five (05) years of service in the Security Service/Fire Brigade Service.
Graduates who have obtained a degree from a recognized University and have been confirmed in their post may apply for this post, irrespective of their post or current pay grade, if they meet other qualifications.

The recipient of the appointment shall act in accordance with all rules and regulations already framed or to be framed by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

The selected candidates are required to serve in any part of the island or in any division/section of the Authority as required by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

Applicants who meet the qualifications in accordance with this notice should prepare their applications in accordance with the model form and send them to me through the relevant Division/Section Heads on or before 16.06.2025. It is essential to attach copies of relevant educational and professional certificates, otherwise applications will be rejected.

Applications submitted after the due date should be noted by the relevant Division/Section Head or Resident Manager, stating the reasons for the delay, otherwise applications will be rejected.

Applications that do not comply with the requirements of this notice in any way will be rejected.
