Direct Recruitment on Professional Qualifications and Merit for Grade III of the Sri Lanka Accounting Service – 2021(2025)
Applications are invited for direct recruitment on professional qualifications and merit for the posts of Accountants in Grade III of the Accounting Service in accordance with Section 7.4 of the Sri Lanka Accounting Service Regulations published in the Gazette Extraordinary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka No. 1670/33 and dated 10.09.2010. Applications prepared in accordance with the model form given below should be sent by registered post to the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Colombo 07, on or before 16.06.2025. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as “Direct Recruitment Application for Grade III Posts in the Sri Lanka Accountants Service” on the top left corner.
02. Method of Recruitment –
Applications will be invited through public advertisements from the following qualified persons to fill up to 43 Grade III vacancies on the basis of professional qualifications in the Accountants Service on merit basis and the officers will be selected on the basis of the results of a structured interview conducted by an interview board approved by the Public Service Commission. Candidates may appear for the structured interview in one of the languages of their choice.
03. Conditions of Service “
The candidates selected will be appointed to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Accountants Service subject to the procedural rules of the Public Service Commission, the Sri Lanka Accountants Service Regulations published in the Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka No. 1670/33 and dated 10.09.2010, and the amendments made to the said Regulations or hereinafter.
- This appointment is permanent and pensionable. You will be subject to the policy decision of the Government regarding the pension scheme to which you are entitled. Furthermore, you will be required to contribute to the Widows and Orphans Pension Scheme. You will be required to pay contributions therefor as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time.
- Government Language proficiency must be obtained as per Administrative Circular No. 18/2020.
- This appointment is subject to the Public Service Commission Procedural Rules, the Institutions Code of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Government Finance Regulations, other Government Regulations, Circulars and Instructions and amendments issued thereto from time to time.
- The medium of appointment will be the medium in which you appear for the interview
04. Salary Structure and Monthly Salary Scale:-
- As per the Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025, the salary scale for this post is – Rs. 82,150 – 10 x 2,400 – 8 x 2,940 – 17 x 3,900 – Monthly salary scale of Rs. 195,970/- (You will be paid as per the classification under Schedule I of Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025 dated 25.03.2025 as per Schedule III as on 01.01.2025.)
05. Professional Qualifications
- Must have passed the final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka;
or - Final examination of a Chartered Accountants of a Commonwealth country,
or - Final examination of a Chartered Management Accountants of a Commonwealth country,
or - Final examination of a Certified Chartered Accountants Institute,
or - Final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the United Kingdom.
06. Physical Qualifications-
- Every candidate must be physically fit in every other respect for service in any part of Sri Lanka.
07. Other Qualifications.
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Must be of excellent character.
- No person holding a religious order shall be eligible to appear for interview as per 7.4.2.6 (iii) of the Sri Lanka Accountants Service Regulations,
- Date of eligibility.
The applicant will be deemed to have fulfilled the qualifications required for appointment only if he has fulfilled the above-mentioned qualifications in all respects by the date of publication of the notice calling for applications in the Gazette. Copies of the certificates required to prove his qualifications must be submitted along with the application.
08. Age Limit
Must not be less than 22 years of age and not more than 35 years of age as on the date of publication of the advertisement in the Gazette.
09. A candidate should submit the following documents with his application:
- A copy of the birth certificate,
- Copies of the highest educational and professional qualifications,
- 2 character certificates obtained within 06 months (one of which should be from a Justice of the Peace)
10. Structured Marking System in Direct Recruitment on Merit:
In addition to the basic professional qualification, marks will be given only for the highest qualification obtained.
