Research Assistant & Technical Assistant Positions [Full-time]

Applications are invited for the following temporary positions under the SLCARP-funded research project titled “Integrating Genomic and Field Approaches for Resistance Analysis of Attakkari Rice Cultivars Against Major Pests and Diseases in Northern Sri Lanka” (Grant No: NARP/2024/USJ/SC/01) Department of Agricultural Biology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna.

Research Assistant (RA) – Two Positions

• Duration: One position for 4 months only, and one for 8 months with a possible extension for another 12 months
• Commencement: 01 May 2025
• Salary: LKR 60,000 per month (all-inclusive)
• Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field. Prior research experience in filed, paddy and molecular biology will be an added advantage.

Technical Assistant (TA) – One Position

• Duration: 8 months with a possible extension for another 12 months
• Commencement: 01 May 2025
• Salary: LKR 25,000 per month (all-inclusive)
• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Laboratory Technology, or a related field. Experience in both fieldwork and laboratory support is desirable.
