Institute of Textile & Apparel Management Assistant Job Vacancies 2025

Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel is a government statutory body providing Training, Testing, Technical Services and Technical Project & Consultancy to the Textile and Apparel Industry and at present the following vacancies are available.

1.Director (Operation) – 01

Qualifications & Experience:

External Candidates:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Management / Finance / Human Resource Management / Law or Science which is recognized by the U.G.C. With
• A Postgraduate Degree qualification (Master’s) in the relevant field And
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in “Managerial Level” in a Corporation, Statutory Board / Institution or a reputed private Institution.

Internal Candidates: (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of minimum of five (05) years satisfactory service in the relevant field in a post in the Manager Category (MM 1-1) Grade I in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel.

Age: Should be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years. The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.  

Salary Scale: HM 1 – 3 – 2025:  Rs. 152,500/- 15 x 4,100 – 214,000/-. (As per Schedule II of DMS Circular No. 01/2025, your basic monthly salary for the year 2025 will be Rs. 113,556/-, and government-approved, statutory allowances will be added.)

2. Chief Technologist – 02

Qualification & Experience:

External Candidates:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Textile and/or Clothing or Science or Management which is recognized by the U.G.C.

Or

Associate Membership from a recognized professional institutions in the relevant field.

With

A Postgraduate Degree qualification (Masters’) in the relevant field.

And

Twelve (12) years experience in Managerial Level in a Corporation, Statutory Board / Institution or a reputed private Institution.

Internal Candidates: (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of minimum two (02) years satisfactory service in a post in the Manager Category (MM 1-1) Grade I Senior Technologist in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel.

Age: Should be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years. The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.  

Salary Scale: HM 1 – 1 – 2025:  Rs. 140,640/- 15 x 4,100 – 202,140/-. (As per Schedule II of DMS Circular No. 01/2025, your basic monthly salary for the year 2025 will be Rs. 105,399/-, and government-approved, statutory allowances will be added.)

3. Engineer Gr. II – 01

Role of the job:

Accountable for organizing, conducting, and training programs in the specialized area and providing overall technical support for the smooth functioning of all training programs of the institute. Ensure that all repairs and maintenance of machinery are carried out to avoid interruptions of SLITA operations. Assist the Chief Engineer/Senior Engineer in carrying out departmental needs effectively. Ensure that all operations are carried out within the planned budget and market trainings; consultancy, and technical services through proper channels.

Qualification & Experience:

External Candidates (1 or 2 or 3 below)

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/Civil Engineering which is recognized by the UGC

Or

Associate Membership of Institute of Engineering of Sri Lanka

And

A minimum of one (01) year post qualification experience in the relevant area in Public Service, Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or a reputed private Institution.

 

2. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronic/Civil Engineering not below the National Vocational qualification Level 7 issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission

And

A minimum of one (01) year post qualification experience in the relevant area in Public Service, Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or a reputed private Institution.

 

3. National Diploma in Technology in Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronic/ Civil Engineering

And

A minimum of six (06) years post qualification experience in the relevant area in Public Service, Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or a reputed private Institution.

Internal Candidates (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in the Assistant Engineer post (JM 1-2) in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel.

 

Salary Scale:   MM 1-1 – 2025:  Rs. 91,690/- 10 x 2,480 – 15 x 3,450 – 168,240/- (As per Schedule II of DMS Circular No. 01/2025, your basic monthly salary for the year 2025 will be Rs. 71,730/-, and government-approved, statutory allowances will be added.)

4. Technologist Gr. II – 03

Qualification & Experience:

External Candidates: (1 or 2 or 3 below)

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Textile and/or Clothing or Science or Management which is recognized by the UGC.

Or

Associate Membership from a recognized professional Institutions in the relevant field.

And

A minimum of one (01) year post qualification experience in the relevant area in Public Service, Corporation, Statutory Board / Institution or a reputed private Institute.

 

2. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Textiles and / or Clothing not below the National Vocational Qualification Level 7 issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission.

And

Completion of minimum of one (01) year post qualification experience in the relevant area in Public Service, Corporation, Statutory Board / Institution or a reputed private Institute.

 

3. National Diploma in Technology (NDT) in Textiles and / or Clothing.

And

A minimum of six (06) years post qualification experience in relevant area in Public Service, Corporation, Statutory Board / Institution or a reputed private Institute.

Internal Candidates: (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in the Assistant Technologist post (JM 1 – 2) in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel.

 

• A degree in fashion design is an added advantage.

Age: Should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.

5. Assistant Director (Administration) Gr. II – 01

Qualifications:

External Candidates

A Bachelor’s degree in Management/Law/Human Resource Management which is recognized by the UGC

And

At least one (01) year post qualifying experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or in a reputed private Institution.

Internal Candidates (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualification required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of minimum five (05) years experience in Junior Management Level (JM 1-2) in the relevant field in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel

06. Assistant Engineer (IT) II – 01

Role of the job:

Ensure proper maintenance of the network facilities and assist in all IT-related matters of the institute, facilitate distance learning education, provide assistance in maintaining a technology-based effective education system of the institute, develop and maintain online and digital marketing platforms of SLITA, and perform other duties as instructed by the senior Engineer/Engineer to maintain the effective functioning of the ICT department of SLITA.

Qualification & Experience:

External Candidates (1 or 2 or 3 or 4 below)

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science which is recognized by the UGC

With

Professional qualifications such as CCNA, MCSA, CEH and software development using C#/ASP.net

 

2. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Information Technology or Computer Science not below the National Vocational qualification Level 7 issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

 

3. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Information Technology or Computer Science not below the National Vocational qualification Level 6 issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission

And

At least five (05) years post qualification experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or reputed private Institution.

 

4. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Information Technology or Computer Science not below the National Vocational qualification Level 5 issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission

And

At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or reputed private Institution.

Internal Candidates (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in a post of the Management Assistant – Technological (MA 2-2) Grade II in the subject area relevant to the post in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel.

 

Age: Should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.  

Salary Scale: JM 1 – 2 – 2025:   Rs.74,010/- 10 x 1,360 – 18 x 2,040 – 124,330/- (As per Schedule II of DMS Circular No. 01/2025, your basic monthly salary for the year 2025 will be Rs. 59,552/-, and government-approved, statutory allowances will be added.)

07. Programme Co-ordinating Officer Gr. II – 01

Qualification:

External Candidates:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management / Law / Management / Science which is recognized by the UGC.

Internal Candidates: (1 or 2 below)

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
2. Completion of five (05) years experience in Management Assistant (Non-Technological) category (MA 1-2) Grade II in the relevant field in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel.

 

Salary Scale:   JM 1 – 2 – 2025:   Rs.74,010/- 10 x 1,360 – 18 x 2,040 – 124,330/- (As per Schedule II of DMS Circular No. 01/2025, your basic monthly salary for the year 2025 will be Rs. 59,552/-, and government-approved, statutory allowances will be added.)

8. Institute of Textile & Apparel Management Assistant Job Vacancies 2025

Qualification & Experience:

Having passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects in one sitting with credit passes for four (04) subjects including.

1. Sinhala/Tamil
2. English Language
3. Mathematics

And

Having passed three subjects (other than the Common General Paper) at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination.

Internal Candidates 

Employees of the categories of Primary Level – Skilled and Primary Level – Unskilled who possess the following qualifications are eligible to apply.

Educational

Having passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with credit passes for four (04) subjects including

1. Sinhala/Tamil
2. English Language
3. Mathematics

And

Other:

Having completed a minimum of five (05) years of service in a permanent post under the above employee category in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel.

 

Age: Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.  

Salary Scale:    MA 1 – 2 – 2025:   Rs. 46,220/- 10 x 540 – 7 x 630 – 12 x 1,080 – 12 x 1,280 – 84,350/- (As per Schedule II of DMS Circular No. 01/2025, your basic monthly salary for the year 2025 will be Rs. 40,403/-, and government-approved, statutory allowances will be added.)

Extra qualifications will be an added advantage.
