Employment of two drivers on daily basis

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for employment on daily basis for 02 vacant posts of drivers for a period of 06 months on daily basis in the Kandy Kadawath Satara and Gangawatha Korale Pradeshiya Sabha.

Basic Qualifications :-

1. Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka and of excellent character.
2. Must be a permanent resident of the Kandy Kadawath Satara and Gangawatha Korale Pradeshiya Sabha area for not less than 03 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications. (Applications from residents of adjacent local government areas within the Central Provincial Council will be considered only in cases where there are not enough suitable candidates in the area to meet the service requirement.)
3. Must be over 18 years of age and under 45 years of age as on the closing date for applications.
4. Must have good eyesight and be physically and mentally fit enough to work during the day and night.
5. Minimum height should be 05 feet 02.1/2 inches.
6. Must have good knowledge of the Highway Code.

Educational Qualifications :-

1. Must have passed 06 subjects with 02 distinctions at the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination in not more than two sittings. Out of these, 05 subjects should have been passed in one sitting.

Professional Qualifications :-

1. Must have obtained a certificate of competence issued by the Commissioner of Motor Transport for driving private taxis and station wagons with a gross vehicle weight of less than 24 tons. (Having obtained a Class C and C1 vehicle license issued by the Commissioner of Motor Transport before 11.03.2009 or a Class B license as per the new driving license, at least 03 years before the date of employment)
2. Professional qualification for employment as a lorry and tractor driver: Possession of a driving license for motor vehicles weighing more than 34 tons, heavy trailers and buses capable of carrying not more than 32 passengers. (Having obtained a Class “A” vehicle license issued by the Commissioner of Motor Transport before 11.03.2009 or a Class “D” license as per the new driving license, at least 03 years prior to the date of employment, will be considered as an additional qualification.)

Experience :-

1. Having obtained a minimum of 03 years of experience after obtaining a motor vehicle driving license. (Experience should be confirmed by certificates.)

• All the qualifications required for employment should be fulfilled in every respect by the closing date for calling applications.
