Structured Interview for Recruitment to the Post of Medical Superintendent (Ayurveda) in Ayurvedic Hospitals of the Eastern Province Ayurveda Department – 2025

Applications are invited from Grade I officers of the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Service only for recruitment to the post of Medical Superintendent (Ayurveda) in Ayurvedic Hospitals of the Eastern Province Ayurveda Department. The last date for receipt of applications is 2025.06.16.

2. Conditions of Service for Recruitment:

2.1. Grade I officers of the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Service who apply in accordance with this advertisement
will be called for a structured interview. In that interview, marks will be given to the applicants according to a marking scheme approved by the Eastern Province Public Service Commission and the selection will be made on the basis of the merit order of the marks obtained and according to the vacancies.

3. Qualifications :-

3.1. General Qualifications

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Must be of good character and be in good mental and physical health.

3.2. Qualifications :-

• Must be a Grade I officer of the Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Medical Service.
• Must not have been subject to any disciplinary action or punishment within a period of five (05) years preceding the closing date for applications.

It should be noted that – It is mandatory for every applicant to have fulfilled all the qualifications relevant to the post on or before 16.06.2025.

4. Method of Application :-

1. The application should be prepared using only both sides of A4 (21×29 cm) size paper as per the specimen application form given at the end of this advertisement.
2. Applications that do not conform to the prescribed model format, are not properly completed, do not have the examination code number in the model application, are not submitted on or before the last date of receipt of applications and are incomplete will be rejected without any notice. The loss caused by not completing the applications properly will be borne by the applicants. It will be useful to keep a photocopy of the application, and the applicant should be careful to ensure that the completed application is in accordance with the application form as stated in the notification. Otherwise, the application may be rejected.

Method of Application :-

1. The application should be sent with the recommendation of the relevant Head of Department, Secretary to the Ministry and the Ayurveda Commissioner. Officers serving in the Provincial Council should be sent with the recommendation of the relevant Provincial Chief Secretary. In each application, the section stating that the applicant may be released for this post if selected for it must be correctly completed.
2. Correctly completed applications Applications should be sent by registered post to the address below on or before 16.06.2025. Applications received after the last date of receipt of applications will be rejected. The Provincial Public Service Commission will not accept responsibility for the loss of applications sent by post. (Applications should not be sent to the personal name of the Secretary.)

3. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as AD/AMS/R/2025(4) and should be superscribed as “Recruitment to the post of Medical Superintendent (Ayurveda) in Eastern Province Ayurvedic Hospitals” 2025”.
4. Officers who have completed the basic qualifications from among the applicants will be called for a structured interview.

5. Identity of Candidates :-

One of the following documents must be produced at the structured interview to prove the identity of the candidates.

1. National Identity Card issued by the Department of Registration of Persons.
2. Valid Passport.
3. Valid Driving License.

6. Penalty for providing false information –

• Very careful attention should be paid to providing accurate information while filling the application form. According to the rules of this structured interview, if any candidate is found to be ineligible, his/her candidature may be cancelled at any time before, during or after the structured interview. If any information furnished by an applicant is found to be false, he/she may be dismissed from the Provincial Public Service at any time.

7. Structured Interview –

Scoring System:

• The Provincial Public Service Commission will decide the scoring system based on the merit and seniority of the officers in the structured interview.

8. Applicants who do not attend the structured interview on the scheduled date will not be allowed to appear for the structured interview on another date.

9. The structured interview will be conducted at the Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission Secretariat.

10. All relevant documents to prove their qualifications should be submitted to the interview board on the same day of attending the structured interview. Certificates requested during the structured interview but failed to be submitted will not be considered later.

11. If any amendment is required in the provisions mentioned in this notification, the decision taken by the Secretary of the Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission in this regard shall be final. Also, if the need arises to not hold this structured interview for any special reason, the decision taken by the Secretary of the Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission in this regard shall be final. Also, the power to take the final decision regarding the making or not of this appointment shall rest with the Secretary of the Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission on the advice of the Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission of the Hon. Governor of the Eastern Province.
