Applications are invited from suitable members of the Academic Staff of the University of Colombo for the following posts of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo.
Post of Director of Studies (Study Programmes
The Director of Studies on Study Programmes, under the direction of the Dean/Faculty of Graduate Studies shall be responsible for improving the quality of the programmes by monitoring, developing and introducing new postgraduate study programs.
Post of Director of Studies (Research)
The FGS carries out multi-disciplinary research at the University and intends to expand and strengthen its pure or applied and interdisciplinary research addressing regional, national and international issues. The prospective candidate, under the direction of the Dean/Faculty of Graduate Studies shall encourage postgraduate research at FGS in complying with research ethics, promote inventions and innovations through outstanding research and facilitate dissemination of knowledge as well as write research proposals to attract research grants and new projects for the FGS.
Eligibility
- Academic Staff member of University of Colombo.
- Shall be a Senior Lecturer Grade II or above, preferably with proven experience in academic administration with high academic caliber and research interest.
The FGS requires two motivated Director of Studies who will assist the Dean to implement the above as well as to coordinate the overall study programmes and research activities by monitoring the standards and maintaining healthy productive links with the Postgraduate Faculties, Schools and Universities in Sri Lanka and abroad. The Director of Studies will be paid an approved allowance. The work of the Director of Studies will be academically rewarding in a pleasant work environment. Those who are applying should be able to work after 4.00pm on weekdays and during the weekends.
