Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Posts of Supervisory Management Assistant – Technical Services Category – 2025

The Department of Labour has a vacancy as of 31.12.2024 for the following posts of Supervisory Management Assistant Technical Services Category, which are being recruited on an open basis in accordance with the provisions of the Recruitment Scheme approved by the Public Service Commission. Applications are invited from Sri Lankan citizens who have fulfilled the qualifications mentioned in paragraph 3.0 below by the last date of calling for applications, i.e. 24.10.2025.

1.0 Number of Posts and Vacancies to be Recruited

Planner
Technical Officer (Civil)
Technical Officer (Electrical)

1.1 Nature of the Post/s. Permanent and Pensionable. (Subject to the future policy decision of the Government on the pension scheme.)

1.2 Nature of duties of the posts –

Planner

Draws plans prepared by engineers, other duties assigned by the Head of the Institution.

Technical Officer (Civil)

Repairs of the Labour Secretariat building and regionally located labour offices belonging to the Department of Labour, supervision of new constructions, preparation of estimates, inspection of contractors’ work, preparation of bills of quantities, supervision of the work of technical officers and other duties assigned by the Head of the Institution.

Technical Officer | (Electrical)

Preparing estimates for the installation of new electrical systems, preparing estimates for the installation of new air conditioners and air conditioner maintenance and service activities, inspecting electrical systems, preparing estimates for the modernization of the above activities, inspecting generators and checking faults in electrical equipment with an electrician and providing reports to the engineer, inspecting the relevant activities of fire extinguishers installed in the building and their servicing, inspecting loudspeakers and telephone networks, inspecting electrical work carried out by external institutions within the department, inspecting maintenance and service activities in district offices, and other duties assigned by the head of the institution.
