Organization: Colombo Municipal Council

European Investment Bank funded Greater Colombo Water and Wastewater Management Improvement Investment Programme

The Greater Colombo Water and Wastewater Management Improvement Investment Programme (GCWWMIIP) Tranche 3 is being implemented with European Investment Bank (EIB) funds and the above project has already been awarded. The project is executed by the Ministry of Public Administration, Home affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government and implemented by Colombo Municipal Council. It is intended to recruit following positions in project management unit to provide appropriate management, technical and contract supervision in implementing the above works which are target to be completed before 31st July 2026. The project cost is EUR 50 million.

01 Senior Project Engineer

Educational Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering which is recognized by the UGC

Experience

• At least 10 years experience in the Civil / Mechanical Engineering field.
  And
• Monitoring of pumping station project is added advantages.

02. Project Engineer (Civil)

Educational Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering which is recognized by the UGC

Experience

• At least 02 years experience in the required area of specialization.

03. Structural Engineer

Educational Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the UGC.

Experience

• At least 05 years experience in structural design of building substructure & superstructure level including secant pile design.

04. Geotechnical Engineer

Educational Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering which is recognized by the UGC

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering field

Assistant Project Engineer (Technical Officer)

Educational Qualifications

• Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the NVQ Level 7, issued by the Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to technical field.
• Age limit below 50

Experience

• At least 02 years experience in the required area of specialization

Greater Colombo Wastewater Management Project Funded by GOSL

The Government of Sri Lanka has made arrangements to complete Greater Colombo Wastewater Management Project in Colombo Municipal Council area with a cost of USD 37.5 million. The objective of the project is to complete the partially completed pumping stations and to complete gravity sewer network in Kirullapone catchment and enhance the capacity of urban wastewater facility. It is necessary to appoint Technical Officers to monitor the project.

Assistant Project Engineer (Technical Officer)

• Civil – 02
• Mechanical – 01
• Electrical – 01

Educational Qualifications

• Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the NVQ Level 7, issued by the Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to technical field,
• Age limit below 50

Experience

• At least 02 years’ experience in the required area of specialization.

General Conditions:

Terms of Employment: All appointments will be on contract basis for one year term initially with facility for service extension on contract basis annually depending on the duration of the project, necessary of the post and satisfactory performance.

The officers who are serving in public sector or state organizations should send their applications through their representative Heads of Institutions and interest persons are requested to forward their curriculum Vitae with copies of relevant educational qualifications and experience certificates to the Municipal Commissioner, Colombo Municipal Council, Town Hall at or before 3.00 p.m. on 01.07.2025 by registered post. Name of the project and the post should be written on the top left-hand corner of the envelope. As per Management Services Circular No. 01/2019 on 15/03/2019, interview process will be conducted and salary will be paid accordingly.
