The airline operates an extensive route network of 120 destinations in 61 countries, including codeshare operations. The Board of Directors of SriLankan airlines is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join as Chief Executive Officer to steer the Airline through this significant phase of growth and change to build on its proud legacy and securing its place as a global aviation leader.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
- The Airline is in search of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with a proven track record, a vision and leadership skills to provide strategic direction and overall management of the Airline.
- The selected candidate will report to the Board of Directors and provide leadership to the Senior Management Team to pursue the Company vision, mission and strategic objectives to achieve the business plan and manage the overall operations and resources of the Company as well as develop strategic collaborations with stakeholders within and outside the industry to explore growth opportunities.
Requirements
Core Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
Candidates should also possess either:
- A Master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience at a senior management level; or in the absence of a Master’s degree, a minimum of 15 years’ experience at a senior management level in a recognized international airline.
- Applicants should demonstrate in-depth knowledge across key aviation functions, including Commercial, Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Service Delivery, Aircraft Engineering, and Maintenance.
Additionally:
- Experience as a Chief Executive Officer in an airline or a large-scale organization will be an added advantage.
- A strong track record in people management skills, with experience overseeing a diverse workforce across multiple categories, is important.
Upper age limit: Preferably 55 years as of 11th January 2026. However, this will not be a limiting factor for an exceptional candidate who will be considered favourably.
This position is open to Sri Lankan nationals and non-nationals. Employment will be offered on fixed term contract basis.
Selected candidate is required to be based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
