This alignment with the new Board’s direction underscores a steadfast commitment to Governance & sustainability as well as growth through expansion in fleet, Ground handling and MRO services as key pillars of the Airline’s future.

The Board of Directors of SriLankan airlines is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join as Chief Executive Officer to steer the Airline through this significant phase of growth and change to build on its proud legacy and securing its place as a global aviation leader.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

• The Airline is in search of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with a proven track record, a vision and leadership skills to provide strategic direction and overall management of the Airline.
• The selected candidate will report to the Board of Directors and provide leadership to the Senior Management Team to pursue the Company vision, mission and strategic objectives to achieve the business plan and manage the overall operations and resources of the Company as well as develop strategic collaborations with stakeholders within and outside the industry to explore growth opportunities.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience at senior management level in a recognized international airline with in-depth knowledge of international commercial aviation sector including Commercial, Flight Operations, Service Delivery, Engineering and Maintenance.
• A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent professional qualification and a Master’s degree.

Additionally:

• Past experience as a Chief Executive Officer in an airline or a large-scale organization will be an added advantage.
• A strong track record in people management skills, with experience overseeing a diverse workforce across multiple categories is important.

Upper age limit: Preferably 55 years as at 28th February 2025. However, this will not be a limiting factor for an exceptional candidate who will be considered favourably.

This position is open to Sri Lankan nationals and non-nationals. Employment will be offered on fixed term contract basis.
Selected candidate is required to be based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
