About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Administrative Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the office. This role is ideal for someone looking to start their career in administration and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role will be on-site in our Canberra office.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as needed
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary
- Assist with scheduling meetings and appointments
- Prepare and edit documents, reports, and correspondence
- Assist with data entry and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems
- Support the planning and execution of company events and meetings
- Handle basic bookkeeping tasks, such as invoicing and expense tracking
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Candidate must be based in Canberra, ACT
- Higher school certificate or equivalent; additional education or certifications in office administration is a plus
- Previous administrative or office experience is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Professional demeanor and a positive attitude
