Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Sports Officer, Grade III, in the Management Assistant-Technical Band 2 (MT 2-2025) Service Category of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Public Service-2026
Applications are invited from qualified candidates residing in the Sabaragamuwa Province who are 18 years of age and not more than 35 years of age as on 12.02.2026 to fill the vacancies of the Sports Officer Grade III in the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Sports Department. This examination will be held in February 2026.

03. Qualifications for recruitment:-
- Educational and professional qualifications
(a)
- Must have passed the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination in six (06) subjects at one sitting with credit passes in Mother Tongue (Sinhala/ Tamil/ English), Mathematics and two other subjects
and- Must have obtained average passes in all the subjects of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination. (Except General English and General General Test)
and- Having secured 1st or 2nd place in the provincial level (inter-district) competitions of the National Sports Festival conducted by the Ministry of Sports, having secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the National Sports Festival, having secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the National Championships conducted by the National Sports Associations registered under the Sports Act.
(b)
Or- Having passed the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination in six (06) subjects at once with credit passes in Mother Tongue (Sinhala/Tamil/English), Mathematics and two other subjects.
And- Having represented Sri Lanka in the South Asian Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships or Olympic Games.
04. Must be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 35 years of age as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
05. Salary scale applicable to this post:-
As per Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025 and 2025.03.25, the salary group of Management Assistant Technology Band 2 (MT 2 – 2025) is MT – 02 – 2025 and the monthly salary scale is Rs. 50,630-10X630-11X670-10X1010-10X1190-Rs. 86,300. In addition to this, other allowances paid by the government to government officers from time to time are also entitled to it.
06. A written test and a professional test will be conducted and according to the results obtained, a number of people equal to the number of vacancies will be recruited based on merit, based on the priority of the marks obtained by the applicants, following the provisions of Public Administration Circular 15/90. Based on the merit order of the marks obtained in the written competitive examination, twice the number of vacancies to be filled will be called for the professional test. All the candidates referred for the professional test will be called for a general interview to test their basic qualifications.
