Trainee Telecommunication Technician

Candidates who successfully complete the program and obtain the NVQ Level 4 certificate will be considered for recruitment to the permanent cadre of Sri Lanka Telecom.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
- Six passes at the G.CE. (O/L) exam including Sinhala / Tamil, English Language and Mathematics with 03 credit passes in one sitting.
- Upper Age Limit is 35 Years.
- Male Applicant.
Training Program
- Training Duration: The program spans two years. In-house sessions are held every Friday and Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00. and in-plant training occurs Sunday to Thursday, from 09:00 to 17:00. During the first months of the program. essential hands-on training directly related to field operations will be provided six days per week.
- Training Location: In-house sessions will be held at the SLT-Mobitel Nebula Institute of Technology in Moratuwa, while in-plant training will take place at SLT Regional Operations Centers (OPMC) across the island.
- Medium of Instruction: English and Sinhala.
- Internship Allowance: An allowance of LKR 1750 per day will be provided during the in-plant training period.
- Certification: Upon successful completion of both theory and in-plant training, participants will be eligible for the NVQ Level 4 final assessment, which will be conducted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
The Offers/Conditions
- Those who successfully complete the training program and obtain NVQ 4 certificate issued by TVEC and possess a valid driving license to drive minimum “B” vehicle class motor vehicles will be considered for recruitment as a Techncian-A15 to the SLT permanent cadre based on availability of vacancies.
- Total course fee for the program is LKR 120,000.00. This will be deducted in 24 equal installments (LKR 5,000/- per month) from the training allowance to be paid as internship allowance to selected applicants.
