Management Trainee – Production

Pelwatte Dairy Industries Ltd is seeking a motivated and dynamic Management Trainee to join our Production division. This role is designed for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is passionate about the dairy industry and eager to develop their skills in production management. The Management Trainee will gain hands-on experience in overseeing production processes, ensuring quality control, and implementing best practices in dairy production. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow within one of the leading dairy companies in the region.

Location: Pelwatte Dairy Industries Ltd- Buttala

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in managing daily production activities, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Ensure the continuous operation of all powder plants by performing preventive, planned, and autonomous maintenance under the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) umbrella
Monitor and maintain product quality by adhering to established standards and conducting regular checks.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to the implementation of efficiency improvements.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance, to support seamless production operations.
Achieve department KPIs designed to ensure high performance with zero losses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Dairy Science, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in production processes and efficiency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proactive, with a strong willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
A basic understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles is an advantage.
Preferred: Candidates from the Uva Province.
