Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Executive -Essence. The position exists to carry out production requirements in terms of flavors within statutory and organizational guidelines with the objective of ensuring all production requirements are met.
Job Responsibilities
- Obtain samples from registered suppliers; Carry out required and predefined tests on raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products; Conduct blending process; Conduct taste tests in order to verify the quality of the products.
- Identifies blending requirements; Guides the workers according to recipes; taste test final blends in order to ensure the blending is done accurately and in a timely manner.
- Supervises the extraction process in order to ensure that the raw materials are extracted as per specifications
- Maintains the raw materials and finished products registers on SAP, Monitors inventory.
- Advises purchasing department when raw materials are required in order to ensure that inventory is under control and the required raw materials are available in a timely manner and finished goods are not kept in stock for beyond the required timelines.
Person Specifications
- BSc in Food Science & Technology preferably in Chemistry with 1-2 years minimum experience in a relevant manufacturing industry.
- Business understanding in the importance of flavors to maintain brand uniqueness and competitiveness.
- Flavors using in food manufacturing business, world trends and standards; local and international statutory and regulations.
- Understanding and requirement fulfillment of Quality Management systems, Food safety management system, Occupational Health and Safety management system, Environmental Safety Management System, Energy Management System, Good Manufacturing Process and PRP, CCP, OPRP.
- Planning and control skills, organizing skills, communication skills, interpersonal relations, leadership and motivational skills, ‘innovative’ mind-set,
- Ability to quickly adjust to changing business requirements.
