We are looking for highly motivated individuals with right attitudes to fill the following vacancy

POST OF HEAD OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

1. Job Scope :

• Head of Mechanical Engineering is responsible for aligning the effort of Mechanical Engineering division towards the achievement of the corporate objectives of AASL, by realizing the objectives specified in the Divisional Broad Plan. H/ME will also responsible for the overall administration of the Mechanical Engineering Division and will assist among others, Deputy Head of Mechanical Engineering and Sectional Heads in maintaining all the mechanical systems, equipment and accessories that are coming under the purview of the division.

2. Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for drafting of ‘Divisional Broad Plan’ that will channel the effort of Mechanical Engineering division towards the achievement of ‘Corporate Objectives’ of AASL.
2. Identification of divisional objectives that are required to ensure the realization of ‘Divisional Broad Plan’.
3. Assist the Divisional Management Team to generate the action plan and the most suitable KPIs to measure the
   progress, in order to achieve the objectives specified in the ‘Divisional Broad Plan’.
4. Responsible for the optimum utilization of the available resources to support the execution of “Divisional Broad Plan’.
5. Responsible for the timely execution of repairs, maintenance and upgrading work of mechanical systems.
6. Planning, supervision and administration of the staff and key functions of the Mechanical Engineering Division.
7. Providing required level of guidance to direct reports.
8. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

3. Qualifications :

• Should possess Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by the UGC.
  AND
• Should be a Corporate Member of an Institution recognized by the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
  AND
• Should possess registration as a Chartered Engineer (MeEng) of Engineering Council of Sri Lanka. (ECSL)
  AND
• Should possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualifying experience in the relevant field out of which ten
  (10) years should be in a Managerial level post.

4. Age :

• Not more than 55 years of age on the closing date for applications.

5. Salary :

• The remuneration package offered for the above position will be attractive. In addition, the selectee will receive attractive fringe benefits

General :

The above post is in the Senior Management cadre of the Company and the selected candidate would lead the Mechanical Engineering Functional Areas.

Having the exposure and experience in Electrical Engineering Discipline will also be an added advantage.
