INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GRADUATE TRAINEES

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

Candidate should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
A graduate of a local or foreign University recognized by University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka with at least a 2nd Class Lower division /2nd Class Upper division/ First Class degree or Grade Point Average (GPA) with a minimum of 3.0 out of a maximum of 4.0 points obtained in subjects/ disciplines of Information Technology, Information Security or any other relevant area identified in the Information Technology sphere.

Other Attributes

The desire to achieve objectives of the Bank with a positive attitude
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Leadership qualities with problem solving skills
Ability to work in a team
Proficiency in English language and Sinhala/Tamil Language
Should be prepared to serve in any part of the country as per the Bank’s requirement
Ready to work long hours

Age

Age should be not more than 28 years as at the closing date of applications

METHOD OF SELECTION

Shortlisted applicants based on the stipulated qualifications will be called for a structured interview conducted by the Bank. The interview will be conducted to verify whether the applicant has satisfied the minimum eligibility criteria mentioned in the newspaper advertisement and to ascertain as to whether the candidates have the necessary Technical Knowledge, Skills regarding Information Technology and related services. The selection will be made in the order of merit basis. The appointment will be made on a two-year fixed-term training contract basis and performance will be evaluated annually.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The selectees will be provided with hands-on training at the Information Technology Department or any other Department where the Management of the Bank decides that their services are required. Those who complete the two-year period of training satisfactorily will be considered to be absorbed in the permanent cadre to the grade of Assistant Manager – IT (3-III) or equivalent grade in the Information Technology stream of the Bank.

The number of vacancies to be filled and the effective date of appointment shall be determined at the discretion of the Bank.

A monthly allowance of Rs. 100,000/- will be paid during the period of training.
