Trainee Development Assistant

(Vacancies for this position exist in Central, Eastern, North Central, North Western, Northern, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces only)

Eligibility Criteria

1. Must be a Sri Lankan citizen.

2. Qualifications

• A.C.E. (O/L) Examination with credit passes in five (05) subjects including Language, Mathematics and English Language in 06 subjects (excluding additional subjects). And
• Have passed in 3 subjects (excluding General Knowledge and General Information Technology) in 03 subjects in 03 subjects (excluding General Knowledge and General Information Technology) in 03 subjects. And
• A Diploma in Agriculture from a Government Institution (must be a full-time course of at least two years) Or
• A Diploma in Agriculture of at least two years (NUP5 or above) from any recognized institution registered with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

3. Must have a valid driving license to drive a motorcycle.

4. Other Qualifications

• High level of interpersonal and communication skills
• A hardworking and dedicated individual
• Ability to work towards time-bound goals

5. Age Should be 28 years or below as on the closing date for applications.

Terms and Conditions

• The training period is for two years and a monthly allowance (Rs. 60,000/- per month for the first year and Rs. 75,000/- per month for the second year) will be paid during this training period.
• This post is subject to the normal terms and conditions of the banking service but is outside the normal banking sector (Closed Service).
• Subject to the satisfactory performance of the Bank during the training period, the candidate will be confirmed in the permanent staff Development Assistant – Grade 1.
• Unless otherwise decided by the management, the trainees shall serve in the province to which they are assigned for a minimum period of ten (10) years (including the period of training).

Selection Procedure

Candidates shortlisted against the above eligibility criteria will be selected through an interview. Selections will be based on the needs of the seven provinces concerned.
