The Kandy Municipal Council (KMC) is the local government body responsible for the administration, sustainable development, and cultural preservation of the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. Established under the Municipal Councils Ordinance of 1865, it held its first meeting in 1866, making it the second oldest and second largest municipal council in Sri Lanka.
